Working principle of fully welded fixed ball valve

Opening process: The driving device drives the valve stem to rotate 90 °, aligning the spherical through-hole with the pipeline axis, and allowing the medium to flow in both directions.

Closing process: The sphere rotates to the point where the through-hole is perpendicular to the pipeline, and the valve seats on both sides tightly press the sealing surface of the sphere under the action of spring force or medium pressure, blocking the fluid flow.

Pressure characteristics: The higher the medium pressure, the tighter the fit between the valve seat and the sphere, and the sealing performance increases with the increase of pressure.

Maintenance and inspection of fully welded fixed ball valves

Daily inspection:

Check whether the valve stem packing box leaks and regularly replenish lubricating grease.

Buried valves need to be inspected for anti-corrosion coating and pressure indication through ground observation wells.

Regular maintenance:

Perform internal component inspection every 5-10 years, and replace severely worn valve seats or spheres.

Perform ultrasonic testing on welding seams to prevent stress corrosion cracking.

Fault handling:

Opening and closing obstruction: It may be due to debris getting stuck in the sealing surface, and the sealing surface needs to be disassembled, cleaned, or ground.

External leakage: If there is a leakage in the fully welded valve body, professional personnel need to plug it under pressure or replace it as a whole.
