Double disc check valve is a common type of Check valve, characterized by the use of two valve disc structures that automatically control opening and closing through medium flow to prevent fluid backflow.
1、 Structure and Working Principle
1. Basic structure
Valve body: A short tube shaped structure with a straight through or flange connection, which accommodates the valve disc and rocker inside.
Double valve disc: Two valve discs are symmetrically arranged and connected to the valve body through hinges or rocker arms, and can freely swing around the central axis.
Sealing surface: The contact area between the valve disc and the valve seat is made of metal or non-metal materials to ensure sealing performance.
2. Working principle
Positive flow: The medium flows in from the inlet end, pushing the two valve flaps to open outward around the hinge, and the fluid passes smoothly.
Reverse flow: When the medium flows backwards, the valve disc synchronously closes under the action of fluid pressure and its own gravity, fitting against the sealing surface of the valve seat to prevent backflow.
2、 Main types and characteristics
According to the differences in valve disc shape and structure, double disc check valves can be divided into two categories:
1. Swing type double disc check valve
characteristic:
The valve disc rotates around a fixed axis outside or inside the valve body to open, resulting in low flow resistance.
Suitable for large-diameter pipelines, commonly used in media such as water, steam, and oil.
2. Clamp type double disc check valve
characteristic:
The valve body has a thin structure and needs to be installed between two flanges to save space.
The valve disc is closed by spring or self gravity assistance, with a fast response speed.
